DANANG – As many as 2,500 people are expected to join an eight-kilometer-long coastal walk in the central city of Danang on the morning of August 2, as part of a program aimed at encouraging local residents to tour Vietnam.

The program, titled “Great Circle – Together with Vietnam’s Tourism – I Love Danang Beach”, is scheduled to kick off at 5 a.m. in the day at Son Thuy Beach in the city’s Ngu Hanh Son District. After the opening ceremony, 2,500 participants, including representatives of enterprises, tourists and locals, will walk along the beach to the East Sea Park in Son Tra District.

During the course of the journey, participants will take photos at check-in sites designed mainly in blue to create fresh vibes and highlight the beauty of the local beaches.

The program’s organizing committee is preparing 2,500 medals for those participants who complete the walk and take photos at three of the six check-in sites.

Participation in the event is free but participants can choose to pay a small fee to get several benefits.

For the free participation, people can register online via the program’s Facebook fanpage at facebook.com/noivongtayloncungdulichvietnam/ or register at Son Thuy Beach from 4:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. on August 2. Participants will receive one name tag, one medal and a cap.

As for the paid participation, people can register online via the VNPay app and pay VND100,000 each and receive benefits such as a shirt, a cap, a medal, a voucher, a name tag and drinking water.

Besides, the organizer will award prizes to those who finish first and who make the most check-ins. Further, check-in photos are required to be posted on the fanpage facebook.com/noivongtayloncungdulichvietnam/ with the hashtag #noivongtayloncungdulichvietnam.

Jointly held by the Saigon Times Group and the Danang Travel Association, the program is part of the “Fantastic Danang 2020” festival scheduled to take place between July 30 and August 5 at multiple places in this central coastal city. As of July 21, 10 sponsors had joined the program, including Sun World and Nam A Bank.
