HCMC – The Ministry of Health reported 1,010 fresh Covid infections today, May 31, inching down by 108 cases against yesterday.
The capital city of Hanoi took the lead in new cases with 251, followed by Yen Bai with 78 and Vinh Phuc with 61. The rest were detected in 37 other cities and provinces.
Nearly 5,800 Covid patients were declared free of the disease today, while one Covid death was reported in Binh Duong.
The Ministry of Education and Training today sent a document on the organization of the national high school graduation examination for pandemic-hit students to the local governments.
Accordingly, Covid-infected students having certificates issued by the competent agencies will be considered for graduation without sitting in the exam. If they want to participate in the national high school graduation examination, they must commit to complying with anti-pandemic measures and get approval from their parents or guardians.
These students will do their tests in separate rooms. Those suspected of being infected with Covid-19 will undergo quick Covid tests before the exam. They will be arranged in the same room with infected students if they test positive and in normal rooms with other students if they test negative.
The answer sheets of infected students must be disinfected before being sealed and handed over to other units.
Although the pandemic has been put under control, the Ministry of Education and Training asked localities to work out anti-pandemic plans as recommended by the local health authorities during the examination.
