Masan’s second chilled meat processing complex put into service

HCMC – Masan MEATLife JSC, a subsidiary of the Masan Group, inaugurated its second chilled meat processing complex called MEATDeli Saigon in the southern province of Long An last weekend aimed at supplying high-quality chilled meat to consumers in HCMC and the neighboring provinces.

The complex, construction on which began in May last year, covers a total area of over 20 hectares. It received an investment of VND1.8 trillion and is designed to process 1.4 million pigs per year.

In the first phase, the processing facility is expected to supply 140,000 tons of chilled meat and 15,000 tons of chilled meat products such as pork floss, sausages and others per year. In the second phase, the output will be increased to 25,000 tons annually and many new products will be introduced, including collagen, blood meal, blood plasma as well as bone and meat powder.

Besides this, the company has also penetrated the poultry meat market by injecting VND613 billion into 3F VIET JSC, a leading company in the industry, and thus securing a total stake of 51%.

Earlier, in late 2018, Masan put into operation its first chilled meat processing complex in the northern province of Ha Nam and introduced its MEATDeli-branded chill meat in the Hanoi market.
