HCMC – The HCMC People’s Council has approved a full exemption of land lease fees for Fulbright University Vietnam at the Saigon Hi-Tech Park in Thu Duc City, extending until 2065.
The decision was made during the 21st session of the council on February 20. The exemption applies as the campus is located in an investment-incentivized area and operates as a nonprofit institution.
The exempted land lease fees will not be factored into the pricing of public services or products. The incentive period starts from the date the land lease decision is issued.
Previously, the HCMC People’s Committee proposed granting Fulbright University Vietnam a land lease exemption from the date of the lease decision until December 26, 2065, affirming that the project meets the required conditions.
According to the HCMC People’s Committee, the university holds symbolic significance in the normalization of Vietnam-U.S. relations and has received attention from both governments. It has also been acknowledged in multiple joint statements.
Fulbright University Vietnam, a reputable international university, plays a key role in bridging education, workforce development, and scientific and technological research between Vietnam, the region, and the world.
It operates as a nonprofit institution under Decision 819 issued by the Prime Minister in 2016.
