HCMC – The HCMC authorities discovered eight Chinese citizens and one Vietnamese who illegally entered the city and stayed in District 12 and asked them to remain in quarantine in the outlying district of Cu Chi, according to the HCMC Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Apart from these nine cases, since May, 29 others have also illegally entered the city, said the HCMC CDC.
Amid the complicated developments of the coronavirus pandemic, the city stepped up its Covid-19 infection prevention and control system and ramped up efforts to monitor activities associated with the pandemic among the community and healthcare facilities.
Besides this, it started receiving health declarations and collected samples for Covid-19 tests from individuals travelling from Danang, where Covid-19 reared its ugly head again, to HCMC from July 1. HCMC has also quarantined passengers entering the city, as per regulations.
In related news, police in the central city of Danang discovered 10 foreigners who entered the city illegally, while forces who examined residence facilities related to foreigners in the city found that many others had not made temporary residence declarations.
These 10 illegal immigrants were found in Son Tra District. They had their samples tested for Covid-19 and were quarantined. Of them, two cases were sent to Danang Hospital for Lung Diseases.
The police also dealt with 34 other cases that failed to make temporary residence declarations.
In the districts of Lien Chieu, Thanh Khe and Ngu Hanh Son, local police also discovered that many foreigners had not declared their residency status. They acted against some foreign citizens and owners of residence facilities for violating regulations on temporary residence registrations.
